Gratitude Day

Today is Gratitude Day, and I’ve been thinking about just how much I have to be grateful for.

Gratitude has a beautiful way of shifting our perspective. It reminds us that even though life isn’t always easy and certainly doesn’t always go according to plan there is still so much goodness woven throughout it.

Today, I am grateful for life itself.

I’m grateful for my family – my grown children, my grandchildren, my dad, and my sisters. For the love, memories, laughter, and even the experiences that have helped shape who I am.

I’m grateful for my good friends – the people who have walked beside me through different seasons of my life.

I’m grateful for the lessons life has taught me, including the difficult ones. Some lessons I probably could have done without, but each one has brought wisdom, growth, and a deeper understanding of myself.

I’m especially grateful for the ability to make better choices for this version of my life and this one feels important.

We cannot go back and rewrite yesterday, but we can take everything we have learned and choose differently today. We can decide what we want more of, what we are ready to release, and what kind of life we want to create moving forward.

I’m grateful for the money that allows me to live comfortably, for the home we live in, and for the food on our table.

I’m grateful for my body and all that it allows me to experience, create, learn, love, and do.

I’m grateful for the businesses I have started, for the dreams that continue to grow within me, and for the opportunity to build something meaningful and watch it flourish.

And I am deeply grateful for the ability to create.

To write.
To dream.
To imagine possibilities.
To make something where nothing existed before.
To continue becoming.

There are so many more things I could add to this list. The little things. The big things. The ordinary moments we sometimes don’t realize are extraordinary until we stop long enough to notice them.

Today, I’m simply choosing to notice.

To appreciate this life.

To appreciate how far I’ve come.

And to be grateful for where I am going next.

Happy Gratitude Day!
